How to Create an API Key on OKX (Web & Mobile)
Follow these steps to generate your API key on OKX:
Step 1: Log in to Your OKX Account
On Web:
Go to OKX and click Log In.
Enter your credentials and complete any required verification.
On Mobile:
Open the OKX app and tap Sign In.
Enter your login details and verify your identity if required.
If you don’t have an account, sign up and complete any necessary verification steps.
Step 2: Navigate to the API Management Page
On Web:
Click Institutional in the top menu.
Select APIs to access the API management page.
On Mobile:
Tap the Menu Icon (☰) in the top left corner.
Scroll down and select Tools.
Tap on API to proceed.
Step 3: Create a New API Key
On Web:
Click the "Create API Key" button.
On Mobile:
Click the "Create API Key" button.
Step 4: Configure API Key Settings
On Web & Mobile:
API Key Name – Enter a unique name for your API key.
Purpose – Select API Trading.
IP Address Allowlist (Optional) – Add the following IP address:
185.123.103.20
Permissions – Ensure the following are selected:
✅ Read (default)
✅ Trade (enable order placement and cancellations)
Passphrase – Set a secure passphrase (you’ll need this for authentication).
Click Submit all to finalize the setup.
Step 6: Save Your API Credentials
On Web & Mobile:
Once the API key is created, your API Key and Secret Key will be displayed only once.
Copy and securely store them, as the Secret Key cannot be retrieved again.
Security Tips
✅ Never share your API key with anyone. ✅ Use IP whitelisting for enhanced security. ✅ Do not enable withdrawal permissions unless absolutely necessary.
